National Squirrel Appreciation Day

National Squirrel Appreciation Day

Celebrate the National Squirrel Appreciation Day with Fundacja Wola. Celebrated on January 21st since 2001, it offers an opportunity to find out more about these cute rodents, observe them or start a squirrel feeder (remember to choose the right food!), to mention just a few ideas. Here, on the blog, you’ll find a short quiz, which enables you to combine learning English and checking your knowledge about squirrels. We also share a few useful links to read more about squirrels.
Do the quiz, practice English and have fun!

Answer key: 1. 1T
2. 2F (Squirrels are omnivores, eating a variety of food from all food groups: tree seedsⒸ, flowers🌼, fungi (mushrooms) 🍄, plant bulbs 🌷, insects🐛, bird eggs.)
3. 3F (Burying food in the ground seems to be a survival strategy. Even if a squirrel, bird or a different animal eats supplies from one hole in the ground, there are others left. Also, a squirrel might find another squirrel’s store and thus, get food in winter, increasing the animal’s chances of survival.)
4. 4T
